Last week, the UK launched its first official robotics strategy, “RAS 2020,” with the goal of boosting the economy by creating myriad new jobs within the robotics sector. According to reports, the UK’s Technology Strategy Board will invest $257 million in robotics and autonomous systems (RAS) to garner a 10 percent share of the global robotics market by 2025. At that point, the global robotics market will be worth an estimated $120 billion.
We at Blue Prism are very excited by RAS 2020. We have been working to develop our robotic automation software since 2001 and have seen the robotics industry come a long way in the past decade. As technology continues to advance – thanks in large part to this new industry investment and support – we look forward to seeing major robotics innovations unfold and pervade our daily lives.
Do you think Britain can rule the robot waves?
